What Makes Your Program Unique or Special?

In our rural program, the emergency department rules. Our residents and faculty take care of a wide variety of sick patients in a setting that is supportive of learning and the practice of emergency medicine. Towards the middle of their first year our interns frequently have been signed off on their core procedures and are happy to teach rotating students and let them get hands on.

How Do You Support Resident Wellness?

We have a wellness committee that is focused on making sure that our residents thrive and actually enjoy their time in Kingman. Our curriculum includes lectures, outings and social events.

What Qualities Do You Value in Applicants to Your Program?

Residents that are looking for challenges and are self-directed learners. We have a core group of faculty that are committed to teaching and living in a community that is rural and underserved. We have faculty who are fellowship trained in wilderness medicine, ultrasound and have extensive experience in EMS, administration and education. We welcome residents with all interests and can help cultivate those interests by facilitating rotations, research and mentorship in a niche of their choosing.

MS4 Sub-Internship opportunities:

We love to have students rotate with us and offer an EM rotation, research as well as an EM/US rotation. Please reach out to Sheri Glass if interested.
